You can call our office at (310) 489-5578 or email Sara at yodama90254@yahoo.com. Our office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm- feel free to stop by, say hello, and schedule an appointment in person if you like. New patient appointments take approximately one hour, and follow up appointments between thirty minutes and one hour. New patients should come 20 minutes early or provide us with an email address so that we can send them with new patient paperwork in advance of their appointment. Additionally, new patients should bring all vitamins and nutritional supplements they are currently taking with them to their initial exam.

How much are your appointments?

Do you take insurance?

We are not in network with any insurance providers, but if your insurance plan covers for acupuncture we provide you with a super bill. The super bill can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement for our services.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that patients kindly give us 24 hours notice for cancellation, as we do not double book our appointments and would like to accommodate patients that may be on our waiting list. A late cancellation fee is charged for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice. For missed appointments, we charge a “no-show” fee equivalent to the price of the missed appointment.

What will happen at our initial appointment?

Upon arrival, Sara will take an extensive patient history and discuss your goals and how to address them through treatment. Depending on your individual wants and needs, treatment may include healing through diet and a nutritional supplement program, as well as acupuncture, Somatic Experiencing (trauma healing), yoga/qi gong exercises, or a combination of the above.

Sara will then use muscle testing to perform a full body scan to detect energetic strengths and weaknesses in your organ systems. This is done by applying light pressure to organs, muscles, and their corresponding dermatomes while testing the strength of your arm’s reflex.  Muscle testing provides information on energy blockages, the functioning of organs, nutritional deficiencies, and determines the underlying stressors preventing your body from healing: chemicals, metals, foods and infections. Muscle testing is then used to determine a nutritional supplement protocol to support your organs. Sara will craft a program addressing your individual needs, removing the offending stressors to help you regain your health and vitality. In addition to your supplement protocol, specific dietary guidelines may be outlined as well. Dietary guidelines and whole food nutritional supplements create the property chemistry for your body to get rid of toxins and facilitate healing and rejuvenation. At this time, Sara will assess whether acupuncture or Somatic Experiencing will be a helpful option for treatment.

To prepare for your first appointment, please download the Intake Form (Acrobat PDF) and complete it before arriving.

What conditions do you treat?

Our patients range in ages from 2 months to 89 years of age. We successfully treat a wide variety of imbalances. Please see ourConditions We Treat page for a complete list.

How many times do I need to see you to get results?

Though some patients see the results they were looking for after just one appointment, treatment usually spans the course of a few months. A treatment plan can be discussed and implemented during your initial consultation to work with your particular schedule.

What supplements do you use in your office?

At our office, we believe that given the proper nutrition your body has amazing capabilities of keeping itself healthy. We also believe that nutrition should be individualized to meet each patient’s needs. For these reasons and many more, we proudly recommend Standard Process whole food supplements. Whole food supplements provide nutrients as nature intended- in whole food form, so you receive many of the nutrients the food provides, rather than the incomplete isolated components of food that synthetic vitamins are based on.  For more information, you can visit Standard Process online.

We also proudly use only Young Living Oils, the world leader in medicinal-grade essential oils. Young Living has set the standard for purity, excellence and clinical results. Visit them online at www.youngliving.com.

Can I continue to take my health food or drug store vitamins while I am doing nutritional therapy?

It is best to stop taking synthetic vitamins as they can be harmful, mask symptoms and do not always correct the deficiency.

Do you help patients transition off of prescription medication?

If a patient is interested in transitioning off prescription medication, we can help them transition in a safe and healthy manner, while healing and supporting the body in the process. We have successfully helped patients transition off pharmaceuticals for high blood pressure, cholesterol, osteoporosis, hyper/hypo thyroid, anti-depressants and diabetes.

Do you offer blood work?

The Pacific Acupuncture and Wellness Center will soon be equipped with an onsite phlebotomist, and we will be using saliva, blood and urine testing for indicators of functional disease. Whereas traditional allopathic blood testing focuses on the pathology of disease, functional testing assess the complex relationship between the physiological systems in the body and delves deeper into the root of your symptoms. Diagnostic testing for a wide array of environmental and occupational toxins will be available as well.

Do you work with other practitioners in the field?

Our office has a chiropractor who does Active Release Therapy (ART), two movement therapists and a yoga therapist who practicesRaindrop Technique.  Combined therapy can be arranged. We also refer to a deep tissue therapist and osteopathic cranial sacral practitioner offsite.
